I often think of that scene in the first twilight book where bella feels queasy because she smells blood and then Edward says "but.. humans can't smell blood" But yes they can lol. It has a very distinctive smell. Where did Edward get the idea humans can't smell blood.
I just started reading a new book on my Kindle. I opened it for the first time, and I swiped through the first few pages which were like.. table of contents and copyright information and something about Amazon and kindle metadata, and then the full page cover, and then it didn't seem to be responding. I couldn't get it to go past that and I thought maybe i downloaded like.. a sample or something. Because when I opened it it first showed me Amazon reviews as a pop-over modal and why would I ever want to see that for a book I already purchased. It took me about three minutes to realize that you turn English book pages to the left.
Ok I just had a strange encounter while taking pictures ten feet away from the last story with the couple filming a tiktok I have my earbuds in, and I'm taking pictures of petals on a tree. And guy walks up and gets my attention and asked me if I post my pictures anywhere. And then he said he has noticed I come here often to take pictures, he recognized me by my shoes. Which.. is true I have very dirty hokas with holes in them lol.
I like listening to failed podcasts and YouTube channels. I am always on the lookout for small content creators who havent found an audience and don't have a plan. There's just something fun and spooky about getting a snapshot into a stranger's life trying something that didn't pan out
So the izakaya in my neighborhood I go to pretty frequently started putting whole sesame seeds in their... Uhh in Japan this dish is just called スープ every time I've seen it. In English in the us it's usually "egg drop soup" lol. Anyway, a few months ago they started putting whole sesame seeds in their スープ. I'm allergic to sesame seeds. But it's been fun learning how to use the スプーン to scoop out スープ with the minimal amount of sesame seeds. I've gotten pretty good at it. My throat hurts.
It just occurred to me that the expression "when life gives you lemons make lemonade" supposes that lemons are bad. Like you're making the best of a bad situation. Who doesn't like lemons? Also I like how it goes like... "Life gave you something sour instead of something sweet? Well, water it down and cover it up with something else sweet that presumably life also gave you."
I've been drinking at a bar for a few hours. I walk to the bathroom which is two buildings over and shared by several establishments. I open the bathroom door and uhh there's someone in using it who forgot to lock the door lol. so I close it.  A kid comes up and waits in line behind me, I think probably 20 years old. With no hesitation he immediately says to me (in japanese) 日本人ですか? and I am like uhh there is obviously no way he thinks I'm japanese. and this is such an odd conversation opening line to someone you've never said a word to and who probably doesn't understand what you say in the first place. So I respond えーと… トイレの中の人ですか? and he just laughs. and then he... really starts laughing. and then he starts crying and laughing. and then the person came out of the bathroom and i went into the bathroom. and when i came out, he wasn't there anymore. the end.
